Lesson Plan

Subject: ICT Skills and Digital Content Creation
Grade: B.Ed. / Teacher Trainees
Duration: 3 hours (can be split into 2–3 sessions)
Approach: Activity-Based, Constructivist
Mode: Blended Learning (Classroom + Online Collaboration)


Learning Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

  1. Explore and list ICT skills collaboratively using interactive tools.

  2. Create digital content (cartoons, e-collages, animations, videos) using various ICT applications.

  3. Share and collaborate using digital platforms (WhatsApp, YouTube, LinkedIn, School Wiki, Blogger).

  4. Reflect on their learning by publishing and presenting their work.


Materials Needed

  • Smartphones, laptops, internet connectivity

  • Apps: Menti, WhatsApp, Stop Motion Studio, Quizizz, Tween Craft, AZ Screen Recorder, VN Video Editor

  • Platforms: Blogger, Samagra Learning Room, School Wiki, LinkedIn

  • Projector/Smart Board


Constructivist Methodology

  • Engage: Students recall prior knowledge of ICT tools.

  • Explore: Hands-on exploration of listed tools.

  • Explain: Students present what they created.

  • Elaborate: Peers provide feedback; students improve work.

  • Evaluate: Quizizz assessment + reflection on learning.


Activities

  1. Introduction (15 min)

    • Brainstorm: “What ICT skills are essential for a 21st-century educator?”

    • Students list ICT skills on Menti collaboratively.

  2. Topic Identification (10 min)

    • Each group chooses a teaching topic (e.g., photosynthesis, digital citizenship, etc.).

  3. Digital Creation Phase (60 min)

    • Cartoon Creation: Use any cartoon creation tool; share in WhatsApp group.

    • E-Collage: Create topic-related e-collage; share on WhatsApp.

    • Stop-Motion Video: Make a short stop-motion video; share in group.

    • PPT Slideshare: Prepare and share a mini-presentation.

    • Tween Craft Animation: Develop a short animated story.

    • AZ Screen Recorder + VN Video: Record an instructional video and upload it to YouTube.

  4. Interactive Assessment (15 min)

    • Conduct a Quizizz activity on ICT tools and digital creation concepts.

  5. Integration with AI and Blogging (30 min)

    • Explore AI tools for content creation.

    • Students publish their creations on Blogger.

    • Share content in Samagra Learning Room and School Wiki.

  6. Professional Presence (20 min)

    • Guide students to create a LinkedIn account and share their learning portfolio.

  7. Reflection & Feedback (10 min)

    • Students discuss:

      • What did I learn?

      • How can I use these ICT skills in my teaching?


Assessment

  • Digital artifacts created (cartoon, e-collage, animation, videos, PPTs, etc.)

  • Participation in collaborative activities (Menti, WhatsApp group, Quizizz).

  • Blogger and LinkedIn portfolio updates.

  • Peer and teacher feedback.


Homework/Extension

  • Students improve their digital content and integrate it into their teaching practice.

  • Write a short blog post reflecting on the experience.
